The Nasca Lines are one of South America's greatest archaeological mysteries, an enigma that remains unsolved to this day. We know that the Nasca Lines are geoglyphs - huge lines etched into the desert sand by hand, in the form of animals, plants, and geometric shapes. We know they were created by members of the Nazca culture, between years of 400 and 650 AD. We don't know why or how they were created and perhaps never will.

The classic flight over the Nasca Lines is one of the most famous tours in Peru, and the reason that most people come to Nasca: visitors climb into a small Cessna airplane and fly over the Nasca Lines at an altitude of several thousand feet. The flight lasts about 35 minutes and you will have time to appreciate all of the major lines, including the monkey, spaceman, condor, whale, etc.

Why choose NazcaFlights.com to reserve your flight?

NazcaFlights.com is proud to be one of the most popular tour agencies in Peru for the Nazca Lines flight. Our excellent reputation is due to several factors:

  1. We are a travel agency, not an airline. We work with several different airlines, and will often be able to schedule you a flight faster than any specific airline will.
  2. We only work with the airlines that have an excellent reputation, and comply with Peruvian Aviation safety standards. Don't risk flying with a low-quality airline just to save a few dollars! There have been several fatal accidents with inferior airlines due to their poor aircraft maintenance.
  3. We speak fluent english and spanish, and will answer any questions or concerns that you have, with 24 hours of writing to us.
  4. Some of the other airlines in Nazca use Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft, which have 12 seats but only 8 windows! Onboard our flights, every passenger has a window.
  5. We don't only provide flights over the Nazca Lines, we also have tours to many other destinations in Nazca, Arequipa, Ica, and Cusco. Our staff have lived in several different tourist cities in Peru, and can provide expert opinions and recommendations.

When is the best time to fly over the Nazca Lines?

In general, the pilots who fly over the Nazca Lines all day long say that the visibility is better, and the turbulence is lower, between 7:00 AM and 10:30 AM. If you can fly within this time frame, your experience will be slightly better. However, we have many clients who fly outside of this time period and are still thrilled with their flights! So if you can't fly during these hours, don't worry.
