This thrilling 38-minute flight showcases not only the world-famous Nazca Lines, but also includes an exclusive aerial view of the Cantalloc Aqueducts—a remarkable feat of ancient engineering still in use today. These spiral-shaped aqueducts allowed the ancient Nazca civilization to store and control water, an essential goal when a tribe lives in a harsh desert with virtually no rain!
Your journey takes place aboard a well-maintained Cessna 207 turboprop, flown by two professional pilots and limited to just 6 passengers—everyone gets a window seat. As you soar above the desert, your pilots will announce each geoglyph in both English and Spanish, and the plane will tilt side to side so all passengers get a clear view.
You’ll fly over 14 iconic figures, including the hummingbird, monkey, dog, whale, spider, tree, hands, and the mysterious “astronaut.” Then you’ll be amazed by the sight of the ancient spirals of Cantalloc, as seen from the air! These are not merely beautiful, they allowed the Nazca civilization to exist for thousands of years in one of South America’s harshest deserts.
This tour begins with at 10:00 AM when we pick you up from your hotel in Nazca or the CRUZ DEL SUR bus station. Then we’ll transport you 15 minutes south to Maria Reiche Airport. Here, please pay the airport tax of 77 soles per person, in cash.
Next, show your passport (Peruvians must show their DNI card). The expiration date should be at least 6 months after your arrival to Peru. Then travelers will be weighed, an essential step for assuring the safety and comfort of the other travelers. Those who weigh more than 108 kilograms may be required to pay an additional fee of $70 USD so that the airline can fly with one empty seat.
In the late afternoon, flights can still be enjoyable—but solo travelers or small groups (2–3 people) should be aware that afternoon departures may be cancelled or delayed if there aren’t at least 4-5 passengers for the flight.
Travelers who get airsick or motion sickness are encouraged to purchase medication from the pharmacies in Nazca before their flight. Local brands like GRAVOL contain dramamine, and can be purchased locally without a prescription.
After the flight, we’ll return you to your pickup location or we can drop you off at the bus station. Most travelers leave with a lasting sense of wonder—seeing the Nazca Lines and Cantalloc aqueducts is an experience few ever forget.
