The Chauchilla Cemetery is one of the most memorable archaeological visits near Nazca: open desert tombs, ancient funerary bundles, ceramics, textiles and human remains preserved by one of the driest landscapes on earth.
Located about 30 kilometers south of Nazca, Chauchilla gives travelers a grounded look at the Nazca civilization after seeing the geoglyphs from the air. The visit is short, direct and easy to combine with a Nazca Lines flight or another local archaeological stop.
