Al este de las Líneas de Nazca se encuentra uno de los logros más ingeniosos del pueblo nazca: los Acueductos de Cantalloc. Construidos siglos antes del Imperio Inca, estos canales en espiral, conocidos como puquios, permitieron que la civilización nazca sobreviviera en uno de los desiertos más áridos del mundo.
Se construyeron más de 40 acueductos, que canalizaban el agua de manantiales subterráneos a través de la cuenca del desierto para irrigar cultivos como maíz, frijoles y algodón. Su diseño aún plantea interrogantes: ¿por qué espirales? ¿Tenían un significado simbólico o espiritual, o eran simplemente prácticos? El debate continúa, y estos acueductos siguen siendo uno de los legados más fascinantes de la ingeniería nazca.
Su conductor privado lo recogerá en su hotel en Nazca o en el aeropuerto de Nazca. En un auto o una van con aire acondicionado, viajará una corta distancia fuera de la ciudad hasta llegar a los acueductos de Cantalloc.
Con un guía profesional, recorrerá el sitio a pie, bajando incluso a las espirales. Durante la visita conocerá el papel de los acueductos en la agricultura y la religión nazca, y cómo este ingenioso sistema de agua sigue inspirando a los arqueólogos en la actualidad.
